밤의 기온이 많이 낮아졌습니다. 이제 차가운 겨울의 내음이 밤공기에서 느껴지는 듯합니다. 도시의 차가운 밤공기는 회색 아스팔트와 높다란 건물의 매정함을 느끼게도 하지만, 나름의 독특하고 멋진 정서를 느끼게도 합니다.

 

오늘 소개할 곡은 차가운 듯 하지만 아름다운 ‘뮤트(mute) 트럼펫(trumpet)’의 음색으로 도회적인 느낌을 표현한 크리스 보티(chris botti)와 허스키(husky)하지만 매혹적인 목소리를 지닌 스팅(sting)이 연주하는 ‘후회 없이 아름다운 여인(la belle dame sans regrets)’이라는 곡입니다.

크리스 보티(chris botti)는 잘생긴 외모로 다양한 장르의 음악을 재즈(jazz)로 연주하는, 요즘 가장 잘나가는 재즈 트럼펫(jazz trumpet) 연주자 중 한사람입니다. 그리고 스팅(sting)은 영화 ‘레옹’의 삽입 곡 ‘셰이프 온 마이 하트(shape on my heart)’로 유명한 가수이지요.

그가 그룹 ‘폴리스(police)’ 시절 발표했던 ‘에브리 브레스 유 테이크(every breath you take)’ 또한 우리나라 사람들에게 큰 사랑을 받았습니다.

 

소개해 드릴 곡 ‘후회 없이 아름다운 여인(la belle dame sans regrets)’은 크리스 보티(chris botti)의 2004년 발표음반 ‘웬 아이 폴 인 러브(when I fall in love)’에 수록된 연주곡입니다.

가수 스팅(sting)과 기타 연주가 도미닉 밀러(dominic miller)가 공동 작곡한 보사노바풍의 이 곡은, 아름다운 리듬 위에 펼쳐지는 솔로(solo)연주가 조화롭습니다. 곡의 전반적인 분위기는 더할 나위 없이 쓸쓸하지요. 마치 아름다운 영화 한편을 본 듯합니다.
